This study aims to analyze the legal framework governing the authority of the Indonesian National Police to investigate corruption offenses under applicable laws and regulations and to formulate measures for optimizing this authority to promote legal certainty, justice, and legal effectiveness. This study employs a normative legal research method using statutory, conceptual, and case approaches. The legal materials consist of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal sources and are analyzed qualitatively using the Theory of Authority and the Theory of Law Enforcement. The findings demonstrate that the authority of the Indonesian National Police to investigate corruption offenses constitutes attributive authority derived from the legislation governing the Indonesian National Police, the exercise of which is subject to limitations established by criminal procedural law, specific legislation governing the eradication of corruption offenses, and the respective mandates of other law enforcement institutions. Optimizing this authority does not require expanding police powers but rather clarifying and restructuring jurisdictional boundaries, harmonizing laws and regulations, strengthening coordination with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Prosecutor’s Office, and enhancing professionalism, proportionality, oversight, and accountability. These measures are necessary to promote legal certainty, justice, and legal effectiveness in the investigation of corruption offenses.
